Throughout 2020, it remained essential for Dort Financial to adapt to new ways of supporting our community partners and their important missions and initiatives. Learning to meet virtually was a new but necessary way to stay connected. Limits on the ability to gather caused many local nonprofit organizations to cancel or postpone their annual fundraising events, making it more challenging to raise much-needed operating funds. As with many organizations, these nonprofits struggled to make payroll, keep the lights on and fund the good work they do in our communities.
We were honored to help several nonprofits through the Small Business Administration Paycheck Protection Program. Many organizations pivoted from traditional, in-person events to a virtual format, allowing everyone to celebrate and support from a safe distance. It was our goal to remain an essential partner and continue contributing to the important work they do in the communities we serve. We are proud to report that we were able to provide support to more than 144 organizations, contributing more than $244,395 to vital community causes. We will continue to remain focused on our community partnerships and philanthropy as we work through the pandemic and emerge stronger together on the other side!
